For Mother’s Day, I Just Want Everything and Everyone to Be Okay

May 10, 2020 By momcafe 12 Comments

What do I want for Mother’s Day?

My husband has been asking me all week what I want for Mother’s Day and I keep telling him I don’t know.

I just don’t know.

Do I want the house cleaned or the laundry done?

Do I want flowers and perhaps a gift card?

What would I like for dinner?

Do I want to sleep in and even take a long nap too?

Sure, my car needs to be cleaned and my floors do too.

And a fresh bouquet and a gift card would be a lovely thing to receive.

Dinner someone else makes sounds nice, along with a clean kitchen afterward.

Those are all wonderful things to have on Mother’s Day, and I sure do appreciate the offers, gratitude, and praise.

But I don’t care about those things right now.

I just don’t.

And I realize that what I really want, I can’t have.

Because for Mother’s Day, I just want everything and everyone to be okay.

For Mother's Day I Just Want Everything and Everyone to be Okay

I believe this wish is on every mother’s heart right now.

This Mother’s Day is different from all the rest. And I’m sure mothers everywhere are doing their best with the job they love most. I’m sure they are grateful to be celebrated for all their hard work too.

But more than anything, we all just want everything and everyone to be okay…

You can read more about this on my latest piece over at Her View From Home. You can click HERE to read it.

Until everything and everyone is okay, I hope and pray YOU are safe, well, and loved.

For all mums and everybody else.
    Sending some your way

Aw, thank you, sweet Marie! Love is a gift ALWAYS, isn’t it? Do they celebrate Mother’s Day in France on the same day as the U.S.? I should know this!

Yes, a perfect sentiment for the times, Chris. Although, don’t feel guilty to take the flowers, offers to make dinner—you deserve that too. I know, I know…I’m missing the point.

I am SO clicking over to read it. And I hear you. It’s like my birthday and shooting star wish right now. I wished and wished for a baby and then for a healthy baby, and I think that’s happening, and now I pray and wish for everything and everyone to be ok.

Ditto, to every word, my friend. I want these things so badly as well. You mentioned your mom and that really tugged at my heart. My mom lives alone and is really lonely as well. It’s so hard knowing how to help and keep them safe at the same time. I’m so ready for this to be over and as you so perfectly summed up for “everyone and everything to be ok”… Much love to you! Stay safe :).

Oh, Candace, thank you for stopping by to read this and sharing your sweet words of encouragement! YES, this is still my wish, months later, and it will continue to be. I hope YOU are managing things okay and your mom stays safe and well too. It’s so hard for everyone, isn’t it? Love you, friend. XOXO
