Encouragement for Women with Insecurities

June 29, 2015 By momcafe 20 Comments

Untangled Book ReviewToday I am sharing a treasure of encouragement for all women who struggle with insecurity of any kind. Carey Scott is a gifted writer with an incredible faith. She has taken her own painful experiences and struggles with self esteem that many women face, and written about it all in her book, “Untangled”. She boldly addresses the raw vulnerabilities we encounter in our lives, and offers us hope and encouragement through sharing her wisdom and insight and truth from her faithful Christian perspective.

As I read through the beautifully penned chapters, soaking in Carey’s stories and struggles- I felt as if we were intimate friends in a trusting conversation about all those downfalls we skid on, and how God’s unconditional love and grace are where we land. Despite the many sources of pain and tangled knots in our lives, we have the endless well of healing and strength we can tap into, from The One who gives all- to all who ask.

Carey’s traumatic encounter of sexual abuse when she was a young child, left a profound tangled mess at the base of her identity. She ultimately unravels these painful twisted threads through her ongoing healing process, while diving into God’s faithful promises for her and ultimately, for each one of us. She weaves through the messes so many of us women face, as she explores the various tangles of expectations, marriage, parenting, friendships, self esteem, acceptance, disappointments, social media and success. As she tackles each area with her honest falls and failings, she offers us hope and encouragement in resolving our own personal issues surrounding these pitfalls we have in our lives. Through her circumstances and honest introspection, you will find comfort in knowing you are not alone in the all too common challenges we women face.

What I love most about her book, is the biblical wisdom and application she shares to tackle these tangles. I learned so much from the truths she so eloquently detailed through God’s Word that reflect the specific issues she described. Carey offers several examples of how we women can not only identify these tangles in our own self worth and relationships, but she clearly leads us through the path toward resolve and change.

This book is personal. As each one of us ladies knows all too well, when we find a friend to confide in and share our deepest pains… while offering truth and encouragement and support for those raw emotional pieces of our hearts… there is ultimately a trusted friendship and powerful healing that takes place.

This is exactly that.

When you read this book, you will find true authentic woman-to-woman healing between you and this beautiful author. You will walk through dark corridors and find light, you will wade in the rough waters and find strength, you will take some painful turns to find hope, and you will climb up the tough mountains to find a new perspective on the landscape you try so very hard to navigate in your own life.

Walk with Carey, take those faithful steps on the road of womanhood and you will find yourself at the end of her trail with new light, new strength, new hope, and ultimately a new perspective. We all have some serious knots to untangle. Let Carey help you through it. You will be blessed. Promise!

Chris, this def. sounds like a book we can all relate to.
I mean, I haven’t met a woman yet who doesn’t have insecurities of some kind…
We are all dealing with something.
My goal has continually been to love myself ‘just the way I am.”
This is VERY difficult to do.
But with God, everything is possible!!

Sounds like a good one, Chris. So sorry your friend endured so much pain, on top of all the fears, insecurities, and challenges life presents to us. God bless her for allowing him to use her to show others the path to God’s peace.

I agree, T! It’s so much better and less isolating now that we are more open about our issues and insecurities. Support is key.
