My Story…And Yours.

April 1, 2013 By momcafe 19 Comments

I started this whole parenting journey with fear and insecurity.  I listened to all the voices and tried to follow everyone’s direction without realizing that I too, had a voice in this mothering miracle.  I too, was worthy of deciding what was right for my child.  Each day I continue to grow more confident in my penmanship, and my unwritten chapters to my book of parenthood.  I am the author, and as I will always be surrounded by well meaning ‘contributors’, I make every decision with faith and believing that the Author of Life trusted me with His two creations.  I am the author of my own story…and you are too.

Come read more of my Momtor post over at Mothering from Scratch, and share you story too!!

I hope my post encourages you to believe in your own story of motherhood.

It was an incredible experience working with so many hurting souls… It was so fulfilling to be a part of their healing journey. I worked in inpatient psychiatric hospitals in Chicago and also designed and managed a variety of creative arts therapy programs in a residential agency as well. Truly the most inspiring and exhausting work I ever did. I miss it sometimes… the depth and despair was challenging, but the rewards were great!!

It is so true isn’t it? I wish every new mom could truly understand this truth. It is so hard to believe in our hearts that we know what is best for our children…especially at the beginning of the journey. I think the confidence gets stronger as we take more steps of faith and grow to believe in our worth. Thanks so much for stopping by Andrea!!! 🙂

I just read this and I could not agree with it more. We all have our own stories and instincts as mothers…we know what is right for our children even though it may not be what others consider to be “right”…I wish more people understood that.

YES Krystal!!! I too, wish more people would understand that! I am glad you stopped by to share. Thank you for reading my post!!! It’s something I feel so passionate about, honoring each others’ decisions and ways. Oh, how I wish we could all do more of that very thing. I also wish I was impenetrable to the judging and opinions of others in this journey. I do get stronger every day in this conviction. My prayer is that everyone can grow in confidence as well.
