On any given day, you can find me wearing my yoga pants with a nice large sweatshirt, lounging at home or out doing errands and meeting friends, most likely with my hair tossed up in a scrunchie and gym shoes or flat warm boots to go nicely with the ensemble. Yep. I am that kind of mom… I am here to tell ya, at this very moment I am writing this-
I am currently wearing my favorite reindeer fleece men’s pjs with the same sweatshirt and tank top I slept in. Yup.
I have never been one to dress up or dress nice at all.

Pony tails and messy buns rock…
Elastic is my best friend…
I confess. I am quite possibly the worst dressed mom in town.
BUT.
When I want to spiff things up a bit?
I sport some cute stretchy jeggings and a nice sweater and if you catch me on a really good day, my hair may be blown dry and down. I may have some jewelry on… AND- it will all be matching!!
On a really good day.
There are times though, when I think to myself…
“I want to feel pretty.”
“I deserve to look pretty.”
“It’s time to get pretty.”
Can I hear a resounding and glorious “AMEN” come from the motherhood gallery?

DRESS UP!!
It’s been a while since I took the time, the effort, and actually invested in buying a beautiful dress. Oh I have several old ones down in the crawl space collecting some nice mildew in a thriving community of mothballs. Even if I found them, I probably could fit ONE of my arms in it, as my ‘mama body’ has changed a bit since then.
Back in the day… I actually went to some formal events. And I looked good. Really good. I had the time, the energy and the figure to slip on any little black dress and primp and prime my presentation.
Now?
I recall hurrying through preparation steps 1,2,3… forget ‘primping’. And attempting to get the basics done, while juggling the kids and baking the chicken dinner and wiping a butt. I’d be lucky if I remembered to put earrings on.

Well ladies, it’s TIME to treat ourselves! When was the last time you bought yourself a pretty dress? The Hoidays are the perfect time to get fancy and frolic in our beautiful elegant and sexy dresses!! (Sexy- look it up. I had to…)
One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to take ONE evening to do just this. Buy a beautiful dress, take the time, the effort, and invest in getting myself pretty. I deserve it.

I was SO excited that DressFirst.com asked me to take a look at their awesome site! I am thrilled and completely tickled that I had the opportunity to cruise around and take in the splendid dress wear they have. There’s something about dress shopping that turns a different switch on inside of me – the one that screams, “I AM WOMAN!” with squeals of delight!
DressFirst.com has a beautiful variety of dresses to choose from and this isn’t just a site for moms… there are gorgeous prom dresses, homecoming dresses, cocktail dresses, elegant evening dresses and wedding dresses! Looking for affordable bridesmaid dresses? There are plenty! There are also accessories and stunning shoes to boot! I cruised through all the options and longingly gazed at all the choices that were available. Oh girls, if you want to take a minute to dream…and possibly purchase something really spectacular, you must go over and check them out! Just lovely. SO lovely. I want either a cute, yet sexy cocktail dress like this:

That red dress is amazing! I can’t imagine how awesome it must feel to wear a dress like that. I get sorta dressed up every now and then, but not really. Funny thing- the more I looked at them, the more I realized I am loving them because of the BODS of those women that are wearing them! Do you think they will magically transform my body if I put one on? LOL

Those are gorgeous dresses, and I wish I had somewhere to wear them! I have to admit that I am like you, always with what I call my “crazy hair” and comfy clothes. I do try and make myself dress up at least once a week with full makeup and hair. Other than that….I am un-recognizable on most days, LOL.
Jen- I could TOTALLY see you in these gorgeous gowns!! You would absolutely look AMAZING!!! So which day do you actually dress yourself in stuff other than our ‘usual”? Just curious!! I am guessing on the weekend? Perhaps on date night? If you have date nights every week, I ENVY YOU!! LOL 😉
I loved the way you started this one Chris and must tell you I wear yoga pants daily for the most part and sweat pants to bed. And I do love fashion, but I love comfort more. But these dresses make me wish I had someplace special to indeed go now. Will have to keep in mind the next time I have a wedding (which is later next year now). Thanks for sharing!! 🙂

The red dress is my favorite. I actually posted something like it once as my favorite thing to wear. A red gown. Funny how it never quite works out and I’m usually in $10 H&M jeans and a maternity shirt!

I’m in yoga pants this very second. In fact, my husband bought them for me for my B-day and when I tried them on he said he loved them, and I said, good cuz I’ll be in them for the next 6 months. haha!
I never, ever wear dresses….but I admit, I sort of want to need a reason to wear one every once and a while. These are STUNNING. Really. Every one. I jotted the name down for a friend of mine who has to dress up all the time for work events. She lives in the “real” world. I live in my family room. BUT, if I ever have to dress up for more than the checkers at Target, I’m totes going to that site!!!!

I’m trying to remember the last time I wore a dress, period, let alone a fancy dress. I live for yoga pants. I wish I could wear them to work. But it is nice to wear to gorgeous dress to a wedding, party or event. I love the strapless black one with the flowing ruffles handing down.
