1000 Voices Speak…For Compassion

January 15, 2015 By momcafe 35 Comments

There is a stirring in the wind all over the globe… do you feel it? It started with one poignant post that speaks to the need for compassion and attention in this world. My Faves, Lizzi wrote it. It’s heartbreaking truth digs deep and raises the call to us all…

Read it.

It will move you too.

From those words, a mission was birthed, with the breath of Yvonne’s heart and their combined passion for good.. A campaign to unite 1000 voices all over the world, with one goal: To spread compassion through our blogs and videos, and pour out goodness in a world that is lacking much of it in many places.

Compassion.
· n.noun
1. Deep awareness of the suffering of another accompanied by the wish to relieve it.*

Bloggers, authors, utube artists, editors, publishers and many more are coming together to fill the world with THIS, through their own platforms on February 20th of this year. If you are engaged on the World Wide Web, and want to participate in sharing goodness around the world, please join us!

We have a Facebook page, and group for you to come along and contribute your heart and your gift toward the goal of spreading compassion everywhere on this one chosen day, as we shine light in a dark world that needs it.

Would you add your light?

And if you don’t write or have a platform to do this, you can surely partake in reading and sharing all the compassion you see infiltrate the web, with all those who need it. YOU also have a purpose… to spread the compassion on line or off line.  The goal of this mission is to MOVE people, and if you are inspired to spread compassion in your own world- THAT is the ultimate mission.

Thank you to my Faves, Lizzi Rogers for your heart and your purpose… And for our beautiful friend Yvonne, for taking on an enormous project to touch the lives of many.

I march alongside my fellow soldiers of good, to battle the broken places with the greatest weapon of all.

Compassion.

We must be the village. We can’t just walk by the fallen or turn from the broken. There are wounded people out there who desperately need attention and help… they are alone. Why? Perhaps they choose this, but if we notice them- then maybe we can connect with them and pour out compassion and love where they need it most.

If we stopped and simply noticed, then maybe our village would expand and people would be cared for and carried. Maybe people wouldn’t feel so alone and help-less… and hope-less, if just one person stepped into their desperate corner and reached for them. I for one, am passionate about this purpose. I have written about it many times here on my blog, so I charge you all to truly pay attention to those around you. Do you hear and see them? Are you truly loving your neighbor?

Are you God’s hands and feet?

We are called to be the Good Samaritan.

I love how Lizzi says it:

“And it’s what we all need, whatever stage of life – we need to know we’re not alone.
Whether we’re the child who is too young to protect themselves;

Whether we’re the kid whose world is hungry, and whose parents seem just not to know about things like nutrition or cleanliness;

Whether we’re the person trapped in a violent relationship, who fears for their life;

Whether we’re the person too close to the edge, who needs to offload in a safe manner before they do something terrible;

We need to know that someone, somewhere, has noticed and that they CARE.

Which makes US the village, and it’s a job we need to be more careful about getting right. We need to keep a look-out for one another, let ourselves care about strangers, act on behalf of those who are helpless, and encourage everyone we know to do the same.

If we make our Village strong enough perhaps the heartbreak headlines will become fewer. Perhaps people will behave more responsibly, knowing that others are keeping an eye on them. Perhaps there will be more respect for one another, and a soul-deep recognition of each person as someone worthwhile.

Perhaps the world will become kinder and more compassionate.
Perhaps it will all be okay…

Because together we’re stronger, and between us all, we CAN make a difference. Perhaps the difference between life and death. It would be a great start, so I challenge you to try.

These are stormy times.
Get out there and BE the village.”
AMEN to THAT.

    ***we need to know we’re not alone.***

    This must be shaded, underlined, and shouted from the mountaintops!

    This is the reason blogging is KICKING ASS.

    As for me, when I read something that makes me say, “THIS IS MEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” I know I have found a connection & non-judgment.

    How Sweet.

    Whatever you girls are doing, I want to be part of it.

    xxx Kiss. Love. from MN.

    Know what the opening of your post made me think of? That Carpenters song…”there’s a kind of hush all over the world tonight…all over the world people hear the sound of lovers in love.” Which has nothing at all to do with the #1000Speak, but that’s where my mind went. Perhaps it’s late…
    I am in for this and I am SO excited to be part of it with all of you.

    we have mastered the art of Looking Away in this world… and then look at the headlines and shake our heads. We need to SEE, really see people. Hear their stories. Hold their hands and hug their hearts. There can be no changing of minds on a Global level, until we have a Global Change of Heart!
