Funny Can Be Found Anywhere

January 29, 2014 By momcafe 18 Comments

Oh friends!  I am SO excited to be over at the hilarious Menopausal Mother today!!!  Marcia is a dear friend and gifted writer who is conquering this blogosphere with her undeniable humor and beautiful heart!   It is such an HONOR to be invited over to her place today to share the funny side of a story that wasn’t funny at all.  As most of you know, I was tested postitive for the BRCA1 genetic mutation for Breast/ovarian cancer.  My dear sister was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and had also tested postivie for this mutation and desperately urged all three of her sisters to get tested.

Just this summer, I was once again reminded of the profound intention behind her wishes- and the unbelievable story that unfolded.  Us sisters all together, revisited those difficult years while both laughing at the obscene stories and crying at the suffering of such pain that still lingers for each one of us.  She still struggles in what can only be a terrifying journey of fighting the monster and waiting for it’s return… but she swells with love and tearful gratitude that she was able to save two out of three of her sisters from the horrifying path set before her.

Today I share some of the parts of this story that I still find hilarious.  I truly have a wacky side to me, and any real life friend can attest to THAT!!  I have wanted to share a few of my ‘moments’ of laughter with you all, and couldn’t think of a better venue than Marcia’s Menopausal Mother!!    Oh please click one more time to join me in lightening up this story with some “Chrissy” fun!!

Here’s a peek at what you will find…
