Do You Know The Real Jesus? Let’s Talk About The Truth

September 28, 2017 By momcafe 14 Comments

Friends, I have a an important question to ask you…

Do you know the real Jesus?

If your response is one of uncertainty, mistrust, or you are twitching with discomfort, I want to propose something to you.

It’s time you truly learned who the real Jesus is.

There are so many convoluted messages out there, so many misleading truths and regimented religions. There are biased opinions and conditional expectations surrounding who Jesus is and what is means to be a Christian, it’s no wonder some people flinch with the mention of His Name.

This is heartbreaking.

Because the real Jesus isn’t about conditions or expectations. The real Jesus is about pouring out His life on the cross, so He can pour His love into you. The real Jesus isn’t a judgmental punitive punishing Savior, but rather the opposite- He is the giver of Grace: The exceptional and extraordinary gift we humans struggle to understand, receive, believe…

Even Christians can balk, trip, fumble in understanding the real Jesus. Even Christians can be misled, deceived, and taught to believe in all the things He’s not, and this is where many suffer in desperate attempts to earn His favor, comply with His rules, and assume there is more to this truth that stands alone.

When we come to know Jesus, we often wrap Him with our own wiring, our own wonky worldly perceptions we have gathered through our own circumstances, our own experiences. We can spend our lives in such deception- Spinning our own wheels with reverent hope we will somehow make it right with God, somehow find the path to freedom, somehow earn a stake in His Love. We might stay stifled in working harder and harder to fit into the mold of what a Christian should be, or worse, we may surrender in defeat – giving up on the tiring road to salvation.

How do you see Jesus? What of your own wiring have you wrapped around Him?

The real Jesus is often buried beneath the layers of our beliefs, causing us to forfeit the life giving, extraordinary love that lies beyond the barriers of our boundaries we set on Him.

I want you to meet my beloved friend Jami Amerine, from Sacred Ground Sticky Floors. I’m slightly, madly in love with her. She has blown up the internet with several viral posts, landed a few book deals, and has millions of readers. Her brilliant and often poetic writing captures hearts and stirs them into believing who this real Jesus is. She invites readers into her messy world of parenting and marriage and #allthethings we women experience in our lives. Her passion for sharing the real Jesus oozes from her words and her message is one we desperately need.

If you read any of her posts, you will immediately be drawn in by the remarkably honest descriptions of her hilarious true to life stories laced with an intimately transparent view that is unfiltered- which makes me love her more.  In every post, she gets to the heart of the message that covers every last detail of everything in our lives- The unwavering, unconditional, unfailing love of Jesus. Each post unwraps our wired worldly view of Jesus, stripping it all down to the cross, and the promise that His blood worked. There is nothing more we need to do in order to earn His unfailing love and unending grace. It’s been lavished upon us, no conditions, no extra bargaining needed. It’s done. And he’s yours for the taking.

Ah…

There it is.

That’s what I say every time I read her work.

Jami has recently published her first book, “Stolen Jesus: An unconventional search for the Real Savior.” As soon as I received it, I devoured it.

Stolen Jesus Book Review about Faith, Christ, Christianity and grace

I knew I would love it. I laughed so hard I had tears streaming down my face at times while reading all her stories- but what grabbed at my heart the most was her answer to the question…

Who is the real Jesus?

Stolen Jesus Book about the real Jesus. Christianity and inspirational quotes about faith

You’ll find out through Jami’s quest to sort through all the different misconceptions of Jesus she came to believe and the various life circumstances that led her to accept these lies. You will be captivated by her brilliant storytelling, her bold transparency, and her passionate desire to understand and reveal the truth about Christ and the many things He is not.

Stolen Jesus Book and Inspirational quote on faith

You may find that some, if not all of the counterfeit representations of Jesus she divulges from her past, resonate deeply with your own beliefs, as she details her experience with “Mormon Jesus”, “Catholic Jesus”, “Fifth Grade Jesus”, “High School Jesus”, “Americanized Jesus”, and many more. Oh friends, there’s some good stuff in this book. Besides laughing so hard you cry, you will be struck by her honesty and inspired to consider the refreshing truth about who Jesus really is.

Jami strips away the many misleading layers of rituals, routines, and religions that can often create the agonizing and distorted belief in an angry, conditional, and sometimes deceptive God. With her poetic portrayal of the true biblical New Covenant Jesus, you will be soaked in the freshly poured spirit of hope, mercy and love.

Let Jami take you on a new faith adventure, filled with hilarious anecdotes detailing the raw, unfiltered reality that is her life, and within the messy mayhem you too, will walk alongside Jami toward the purest most glorious love of all:

The Real Jesus.

Friends, take the time to order this book and read it. I promise you won’t regret it. You can find it on Amazon HERE.

I’ve never heard of this book (or her) but am intrigued. I’ve been very disheartened recently by some who claim to love Jesus the most when their behavior and thoughts are very un-God like. Inhuman even… Thanks Chris!

Yeah, sigh. I know. I think you will LOVE Jami’s hilariousness and the incredible message that is TRUE to Jesus. Reading her words, there is such comfort and authenticity of what the Christian faith REALLY is and where we all go wrong in striving to ‘achieve’ it. Thanks so much for checking it out, Kristi. HUGS. <3

I love Jami’s blog. I’ll definitely need to get this book. Not understanding the real Jesus kept me away from Him most of my life. I could never grasp the love and forgiveness He actually filled us with. Jami is hilarious so I have no doubt this book will not only teach but entertain as well :). Love her writing style! Thanks for the review and recommendation, Chris. I always trust your judgement for a good book!
