Are you the lowly Shepard, standing still and afraid?
Alone out in the vastness of the fields…
Wandering in the darkness?
Do you wade through your days,
Working tirelessly with no end?
Are you filthy, worn and weary…
Wishing there was more?
Go To Him.
Follow the star.
Find His Light.
He came for you.
Are you the King adorned in jewels?
Clothed in royal power.
Your robe is mighty, your servants plenty.
And yet inside
Are you empty?
Your wisdom yields both wealth and might
But do you feel powerless?
The land you rule, but who rules you?
You wonder.
Fall to your knees in search of
The King of Kings to whom
Your crown belongs.
Go To Him.
Follow the star.
Find His Light.
He came for you.
And if by chance, you’re neither Shepard nor King.
No riches, no rags, no extreme.
Sometimes ruler
At the throne of your court…
Sometimes lost
In the vastness of the fields…
In-between.
Extraordinarily ordinary.
Lacking with plenty.
Go To Him.
Follow the star.
Find His Light.
He came for you.
Be Blessed By Him.
Merry Christmas

And there you are again, Chris, just putting it all into perspective. Beautiful. I have to admit I kind of feel like that in-between sometimes. Thanks for reminding me of the true meaning of Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful celebration with family and friends! Love you!
I can’t tell you how much it means to me that you soak in my words and take them to your heart. I am often in between as well… and yet, most of us are- and I see that as a blessing. 🙂
I pray more people made this Christmas ‘personal’- as it should be. It breaks my heart to see Christ take the back seat to presents and partying.
I am so grateful you took the time to be with me… and ultimately with Him this Christmas, Jen. That is beautiful, precious friend.

Thank you SO much sweet friend!! I am so grateful for friends like you, so thoughtful and caring and a lovely light in my little ‘world’ here. 🙂
So beautiful!!!!
Thanks SO much mom. Your words mean the WORLD to me…. 🙂 Love you!
that was beautiful I should have read it sooner. we don’t go to church and I I wish we had more faith and a church that we could call a family and feel really comfortable there I think it’s really important.i, sometimes lose my way in this aspect of my life thanks for reminding me
Oh Kerry, I completely understand where you are at my friend. I didn’t have a church family for 20 years!! It’s such a shame that there are so many churches out there, and yet so many people that are in need of a church they can call home.
I always felt like an outsider, and that I would never really fit in to the “Churchy-ness” of it all… BUT, once I found a church (16 years ago) I felt completely comfortable in where I could be my own quirky sin-soaked self, I had never felt so fulfilled!!
Oh, how I wish you did have a church family right now to support you and your precious babies and provide food and care for you as you transition into this ‘new world’ of motherhood!!! I will be praying that somehow, in the midst of your new blurry season- God provides you a window where you discover this blessing of fellowship. there is a church out there for you- I just know this! Praying God leads you there…
I am SO grateful you came by to read this, Kerry! Bless your heart. 🙂 You are a beautiful soul.
And I’m so glad He did come for me and continues to seek me out and work on me, in me, and through me. Merry Christmas WPB! Love you bunches!
AMEN SISTER!!!!!!! I am right there with ya….
SO blessed to walk this faith by your side. SO blessed!
How beautiful! Did you write this?! There is a beautiful stained glass in our church of a star w/ the words on on each side “we have seen the star and have come to worship him” I look at it every week and think about what it means. You have put it beautifully. I took a pic the other day. I’m going to send it to you. Merry Christmas!
Oh Stephanie- that picture was breathtaking, and I can only imagine how more brilliant it would look in real life. Thank you so much for your kind words! I am so so glad you were touched by this!!
I did write it, in the wee hours of the night, scribbled down in the dark… in my bed. I often feel His Presence most then.
Merry Christmas and happy new year!
Thanks Andrea! Right back at ya! 🙂
Beautiful. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Thanks Leah!! We just finished Christmas #3 last night with our second batch of family in town through tomorrow. Each Christmas had it’s blessings and laughter…
And I am SO GLAD yours was too!! 🙂
