Hey Moms, are you tired of the school year?
Yeah. I know…
I was tired too.
Our school year has officially ended, and I’m here to tell you that the light at the end of the tunnel will soon be yours too.
Until then, hang in there.
Waking your tired kids up every morning, scurrying through breakfast and quickly packing lunches and yelling “Don’t forget your…!” Dragging them off to school for the 321st time, hoping you’re not late again and then realizing as your speeding down the street, that your kids’ lunches are still sitting on the kitchen counter…
Those brutal mornings will be over soon.
All those scattered school papers and lost library books- will be a faded memory in the shade of the trees on a glorious summer day.
Just hold on.
You got this.
Those drop offs and pick ups, those long car lines at the school, slowing down to 20mph when you are running late and your blood pressure rising with every single minute that passes…
All those stressful moments in the car will soon be filled with joy-filled laughter- while you drive to community pools, beaches, and head out on family vacations.
You can do this!
I was YOU, just one week ago.
So tired.
So very tired of it all.
And yet, there was one thing I was never tired of…
And I’m guessing you aren’t tired of this one thing too.
Head on over to my friend Jill’s site, Ripped Jeans and Bifocals, to find out what I mean.
I shared a post about being that tired mom.
And I was wishing it was all over- Oh those last weeks of school are difficult, aren’t they?
Yeah.
I know.
I bet you can almost taste those easy summer mornings and long summer days, can’t you?
You’re almost there.
For now?
I understand how tired you really are-
Because I was really tired too.
Click HERE to read my post about being OH so tired.
And I’ll see ya at the pool, when your kids get out of school.
Heading over and here in NY though, we have school until June 24th. But oh how I am tired from the school year and more still though, too.
June 24th? Oh good grief that is so late! But I’m betting you start much later- we start mid August, which seems so ridiculous to me. Hang in there sweetie! You are ALMOST THERE!
It seems to be a non-ending cycle Chris. We still have a month to go in France. Both kids and parents are tired (and the weather is not helping – we’d rather like morning rush under with the sun than rush under the pouring rain in working clothes.)
Good to know that we are all on the same boat.
Take care and enjoy what’s coming next!
Every one gets a bit weary of it all toward the end, it seems. A month to go sounds SO LONG, but you can do it Marie!! Hang in there sweetie! Now, I’m weary from the summer. LOL
I was always just so happy not to have to make school lunches…:)
I have since swapped that to making food for my kids all day LONG. LOL It’s amazing how I forget how much more work comes in the summer- despite the more fun that comes along with it! I spend most of my time in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning. Go figure. ๐
Heading over now. I really do get tired of it.. like around November! ha! I’m a summer girl, through and through.
Ha! My exhaustion come around January… I’m all about the summer season too!
Christine! I will head over to the other post but I had to say I’m SO tired of it after 18 years!! Graduation is on June 11th for my son..I wonder if I will miss it or will head to the beach, take a deep breath and a sigh, and dive in the ocean knowing I’ll never have to do another thing for school again..there is an end..at least you are free for the summer and I know you will enjoy the best of it!!! I’m celebrating summer with you! Blessings!
Oh Kathy, I celebrate the END of your school parenting with you!!! I do hope you dove into that ocean and felt the liberation and the relief of your end- along with the excitement of the new beginning of a new season of parenting. I’m sure THAT comes with all kinds of emotion. <3
I can’t wait to read the rest, my friend. You are beautifully reminding me how wonderful it is to have summer finally here!
Summer is quite glorious, despite the constant catering to the kids. LOL I’ll take it. ๐ I hope you enjoy yours, my friend!!
Heading over now. But yes, so tired of the school year. Thank goodness it’s over:)! May 27th for us.
Allie, I hope you are able to get some time off work to enjoy it with your kiddos! YAY for SUMMER and end of the school days!
GOING! Love you and Love Jill so <3
Thank you babe. And we LOVE YOU right back!! ๐
I am glad that “stress” of homework and making sure there is enough clean laundry to get through the week is now behind us. Tomorrow is the last day of school. For me summers come with a different kind of tired though because all three of us are home. When my husband has a photo job from this point on, we will be with him because we can be. So I try to stick with my get up early routine because it is truly all the me time I get. I kinda already sound summer weary don’t I? LOL.
I get that ‘summer weary’ Kenya!! I am SO THERE. LOL Good for YOU for getting up early to have your ME time. I so need that too… ๐
