I needed to clean out my desk to give my girl. It was a simple task. My desk was small, so I didn’t have too much to sort through. Or so I thought…
This isn’t the first time one small task has catapulted into a few more…massive projects. I suppose it happens when we continue to find more and more things to clean out and organize. But this one time? I got a little crazy. Maybe it was because I had spent too many days neglecting some long overdue areas in my house that needed a good cleansing. Sometimes, you forget about those places in need, when spring flies by and summer zooms along. I tend to not really dive into things, unless I am led there…
And it often begins with one small task.
This one small project turned into about 20 projects in the wake of four hours… It was incredibly cathartic and exhausting and frustrating, as only a mom can know. When you end up diving into the barrel of closets and bookshelves and toy bins… there’s no going back.
Problem is… you started 20 projects, and now you need to complete them, right?
Huh.
Well, I’ll save that post for another day.
In the meantime, you simply must go over to The Mid to read my latest post about this very thing. It’s accurately titled, “How To Turn 1 Project into 20, In 387 Easy Steps!”
I think you will enjoy the insanity of it all. If you like it, I would love for you to pass it along to those who have suffered such similar consequences. Mkay? I am always grateful for your support!
Oh, and of course if you want to swing by my house and help me put it back together?
That would be great.

I’m in that mode right now. Tried to organize Tucker’s artwork which led to taking photos of the things I’d be tossing, then to buying an album for the keepers, to buying a shredder because of the piles of stuff to tear into tiny pieces which led to a new pile of “to be filed” which well. Yeah.

Oh dear. Reminds me of the first time I put up my blinds. I almost cried in frustration. And it’s only blinds.

Ha! It’s amazing how involved we can get in these projects! 🙂

I loved it – and so relieved that I am not alone. I have found myself in the same situation, one too many times:(.

It’s absolutely INSANE!! But I am responsible for the messes I ignore or avoid for too long… and this is why I can look everywhere and find a project! Total extremes over here… all or nothing!

Oh, I am so like that. I then go insane with tasks and projects. I have a one track mind sometimes. It leads me down paths!
Ok, sorry. Tangent.
I’m heading over!

I think it just brews for months, and then BAM!! I MUST CLEAN THIS OUT. And of course, it’s never just ONE thing…
Marie says
I definitely get what you mean.
When you start it feels like you can’t stop. But after all the mess, it feels good to have been able to manage it all.
Happy to read you again Christine.
Take care

It DOES feel so good!! When it’s actually done. When it’s FINALLY done! lol
Thanks so much for coming by, Marie!! I hope you had a wonderful break! XO
