It’s been a very exciting, emotional and exhausting week over here. First of all, it’s May. Every mom knows about May’s madness… and I am swimming in the whirlwind of crazy right along with them. On top of the mayhem of the last week of school, there was and always is- Cassidy’s birthday. It adds a bit more icing on the cake of it all. And with her graduating from grade school- heading off to middle school…
I’m breathless.
Leading up to this glorious celebration, I have been reflecting on my daughter’s precious life. Walking down the corridors of each year’s hallway, I’ve been cautiously taking peeks into the rooms of memories that stretch and stir and still my heart. Oh, what a miraculous, glorious, wondrous, tumultuous, life it’s been. A decade of years that have seemed to blur into one instant, appeared before me as though I turned my head and closed my eyes and she transformed into a grown girl. How did it happen? Those countless blurry days all threaded into a decade of twists and turns and winding paths that lead us to now. This moment in time where I suddenly see it all transform before me.
For ten years, I flailed and flung myself fumbling through my motherhood mission, and here I am realizing my baby has passed through season after season and day after day and year after year…
To get here.
I turn the corner into yet another corridor, cautiously and nervously anticipating all the highs and lows of middle school. I cannot open any doors to memories just yet, but I am confident that my baby will lead the way and create rooms with a purpose and a passion. I believe in her.
Oh, how I believe in her.
Thankful for her first year…
Thankful for her second year…
Thankful for her third year…
Thankful for her fourth year…
Thankful for her fifth year…
Thankful for her sixth year…
Thankful for her Seventh year…
Thankful for her Eighth year…
Thankful for her Ninth year…
Thankful for her Tenth year…
Here’s to year Eleven!
Happy happy birthday to Cassidy!

I’m breathless, Chris. Literally. With Scarlet turning five. Even when she turned two, I found myself short of breath. Now that Des is turning two and Scarlet turning five and BlogU and ahhhh to everything, I find myself occasionally short of breath.
Happy, Happy to you both!

Thanks babe!! It took me about 12 hours to dig up photos and take ‘do-able’ pics from my phone to download. Good grief! I figured if I wrote about each year, it would take 10 times longer!! 😉
(Hope you are having a MARVELOUS time with niece and neph!!!) *HUGS*
Bless your boots! Did she like seeing this, and all the years of her which you worked so hard to compile?
It is a big deal when they get to that double digit age. You have one beautiful daughter, both inside and out, on your hands. It will be exciting to see what she does as she grows.
Thanks Christine! I can’t wait to see what happens in her life as she grows… I do know it will have purpose and passion! I am a blessed mama!

Oh such a beautiful way to look at a birthday. I tend to get sad at the years passing by and forget to be thankful. Thank you for the reminder!
It’s amazing how the years seem to blur into each other… and yes oh yes, how I know that sadness in letting go of another year for our babes! I have that mixed into this celebration Jenny! Bitter sweet for sure!
Happy, happy birthday to beautiful Cassidy!! She is just precious and you are both so very blessed to have each other! I know exactly where you are in the mayhem. The end of the school year is so crazy hectic..what is up with that? Well, I guess it makes us a little more grateful for summer vacation!
And with all YOU have going on, I’m so thankful you even stopped by Sandy!! Thanks so much love. HUGS to you and to NIKKI!!!

AW!!!!! You are such a LOVE to comment Emily!!! Thank you so so much. I know you get this! Sweet Claire is flashing right before your eyes too! XOXO
What a sweet post. I’m thankful every day for my boys, too, and just the other day caught myself crying like an idiot over a Facebook post that my husband had put up of them. It was supposed to be funny, and it was, but I suddenly felt this overwhelming surge of sentimentality over how much I love them. They are just such blessings–as is your daughter. Loved it!
Isn’t it amazing how it just hits you and you feel this intense love and overwhelming joy/gratitude for your children? Oh the mama heart!!
I get it, Shay. Oh how I get it! 🙂
Happy Birthday to Cassidy! Loved seeing her progression. She is so beautiful!
Aw! Thanks so much Katie!! I love that my now middle schooler has her tooth on her pillow awaiting the tooth fairy… Holding my breath. Praying she lingers in her childhood a bit longer still.
She’s lovely! Such a sweet walk down memory lane. These transitions are so incredibly bittersweet, aren’t they?
OH they ARE Lisa!! So amazing to celebrate the victories and triumphs through all her hard years especially…
Loved seeing her series of photos…all the changes as she grows and matures. What an engaging smile she has.
She really does have an illuminating smile! One of my favorite things about her… it matches her spirit perfectly. 🙂
Happy Birthday to her!
what a joy to see the progression of her life in those pics!
oh my heart — what a lovely young lady you’ve got there!
Thanks so much my friend! She is a love and a light!! I am so very proud of her!
