A Christmas Lullaby

December 26, 2016 By momcafe 10 Comments

Years ago, I wrote a song for Jesus- A Christmas Lullaby. Back when I used to teach music, I would pick one voice student to sing it for my annual Christmas recital. Every Christmas season this song was performed by a precious child’s innocent and beautiful voice. It’s one of my favorites, and I thought I would share it with you.

This time, my own children’s voices are gifting us all with my song, and let me tell you- this was nothing short of a Christmas miracle getting them to both sing and make it through the song without laughing, crying, yelling, messing up, falling asleep, or talking. This was about the 43rd take. Just sayin’.

Jesus, Christmas lullaby, Christ is born

A Song For Baby Jesus

A Christmas Lullaby.

Sweet Baby Jesus

Lying in the hay

Close your eyes and don’t you cry

I’ll sing to you this lullaby…

Sweet Baby Jesus

We’ll glorify your name

Soon you’ll grow and come to know

Our fallen world, our pain.

For you, Baby Jesus

From the grace of God you’ll be

Our savior our redeemer

For all the world to see.

And as we grow to know you

Your Loving Light we’ll need

You’ll save our souls as God foretold

His plan will come to be.

Ha…llelu…

Halle…

Lujah…

HA…LLELU….

HALLE….

LUJAH!!!

Sweet Baby Jesus

This lullaby’s for you…

To praise your name

Rejoice again

God’s greatest gift…

Is you.

May you feel the love and the unending grace of Jesus, this Christmas and in the coming year.

Merry Christmas and God bless you all!

Thank you so much Lynn! I’m really glad we finally got a fairly decent recording of these two. Oh my goodness, it was fun. I’m just so glad they loved the song enough to learn it and sing it! That was the best gift of all. <3

Boy, Cassidy is getting so grown up. I can’t take it! Her voice is getting even more beautiful, if possible. And your son! My heart can barely handle it.
